Arborist/arboriculturist

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years (50 semester hours credit) in a botanical/biological field or commiserate on-the-job experience. Physically and mentally fit. You are able to pass drug and background checks. Initially, all personnel are required to complete one year of field work prior to assuming the duties of an ASI Staff Arborist.

Duties: Supervision and training of foremen, climbers, and groundmen. Identification of the majority of regional landscape and noxious plant species. Identification of common insect pests and pathogens. Estimating and sales work is required, so the ability to communicate with clients is essential.

Compensation: If extensive training is required, $10 per hour, plus 2-5% commission, plus bonuses for production quotas.

Climber/foreman trainee

Qualifications: Minimum 2 years on the job experience as a climber, one year as a foreman. ALL newly employed ASI climbers require retraining in safety to meet our stringent safety standards. A foreman must be able to supervise and motivate subordinates in a positive manner. You should have a professional appearance and demeanor. You will be able to pass drug and background checks. Initially, all personnel are required to complete one year of field work prior to assuming the duties

Duties: Pruning, removals, cavity repair/sealing, cabling, planting, and basic knowledge of tree care. Recognition of tree problems is required. Operational experience and maintenance of all tree industry equipment is required.

Compensation: Minimum of $8.00 per hour, plus 2-5% commission, plus bonuses for production quotas.

Groundman

Qualifications: Physically and mentally fit. You are also willing to learn climbing techniques. You must have an above average mechanical aptitude. You are able to pass drug and background checks.

Duties: Equipment maintenance, operation of brush chipper, support of climbers, site detailing.

Compensation: $6.00 - 8.00 per hour to start. Rapid advancement to bonuses and promotions for a self motivated workman.
